Red roses grow fat and wild in the meadow.
Delicate pinks poke tiny heads from pots on the deck.
The morning air thick with aroma and cherished memories.
Pups and kittens, rowdy romping, tumbling and rumbling.
Grown regal beauties, proprietors of home and heart.
Aging critters asleep in the sunbeams.
Ashes nourishing soil and roots.
Sweetness mingling with purple lilac.
Their loving presence remaining, always.
